Anyway, I decided to put a tutorial together for you that helps answers a lot of the questions I got as well as shows you how I do a quick 30 minute routine to bigger better more voluptuous hair!
STEP 1: TOWEL DRY IT! For best results for the quick version of this "do" start with clean wet hair. Most of my updos are rarely after I shower... I like the natural filth to give hair body, but for this... clean is better!
STEP 2: BLOW DRY IT! I like to blow dry my hair without a brush to let it naturally volume which lets my hair volume last so much longer than if I used a curl brush to do it. And for this hair style, make sure you blow under the hair towards the root giving it a more natural lift.
*This would be the result of the blow dry... and this is what my hair would look like with NO style... just so ya'll know.*
STEP 3: CURL IT! I use both a fat and thin curling iron for this. Really for this kind of style you can use any size, but today I wanted more of a wave than a curl, so the bigger the iron the wavier it is. NOTE- I didn't curl all the way to the ends. Leaving just the tips uncurled leaves a more natural wave to the hair.
*And so your left with big wavy curls that makes a "cute" style, but nothing to really brag about... So we move on to make the hair, well, more voluptuous!*
STEP 4: Fluff It Up! Typically I like to throw my head like a rock stark to get it all naturally fluffed, but after so many camera takes, we gave up and went with the second approach- Fluff it with your hands. I just really like to have the curls look less like "Straight out of a curling iron" and more naturally wavy. So I fluff it!
STEP 5: TEASE IT- I am a firm believer in teasing and I never leave the house without my backcomb...
STEP 6: SPRAY IT- I love The Aussie brand because it DOES NOT leave my hair feeling sticky or stiff... It's a weightless hair spray at almost nothing to cost!
STEP 7: OWN IT & ROCK IT
Beautifuls!

ReplyDeleteMy 10 yr old stepdaughter just curled her hair for the first time the other day by putting rollers in her hair before bed - all on her own - and when she woke up the next day her hair looked like a professional had styled it lol, she was so excited, she's done it everyday since! She's a big teaser, too.
